How’s it going?
On February 25th, I decided to attend a concert of an Idol Group from Japan: AKB48. If you are a fanatic of all things Japan then you need no introduction to these lot. I was accompanying a friend who flew all the way from Borneo just to see them live.
The queue started as early as midday, despite the gates were scheduled to open at 5PM. When I got inside the venue, we were at the front but to the left. All thanks to the C-class ticket they were giving away for free on Facebook. Glow sticks were provided for the audiences.
After an introduction from the Japanese Ambassador to Indonesia and Indonesian Minister for Creative Economy, and some heavy chants from the diehard wotas, the girls appeared on stage and opened the show with Flying Get. Then after two more songs that I don’t remember, the sister group JKT48 took over with the Indonesian rendition of Kimi no koto Ga Suki dakara.
The show ended with the Akihabara ladies and Jakarta girls performing Heavy Rotation.
So why did I write about the concert? What you have just read is a recount and I haven’t written one of those since primary education. Although I am able to retell my whole experience of the concert (and I bet you do want me to, otakus), I have a journal on consumer behavior to read and a macroeconomics book to chew for the quiz tomorrow. You should be aware, however, that there are plenty of news on the concert available for you to browse and many “fancams” for you to watch on YouTube.
But yeah, I went to the concert.
